It was a fine sunny day on the 1st of April 1925, where at 1.30 prompt, soldiers and sailors adorned with medals and decorations, VADs, dignitaries, townspeople of all ages and parties from around the county, assembled outside the Town Hall, to form the most magnificent parade along the length of Market Street and beyond.

Internationally renowned harpist, musician, arranger and composer Catrin Finch is one of the most accomplished harpists of her generation and has been delighting audiences all around the globe, bringing the beautiful sound of the harp to the forefront, popularising its sound to the wider audience. She was the Official Harpist to the Prince of Wales from 2000 to 2004 and is now visiting Professor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff and the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Who would have thought that a 'spur of the moment' acceptance of a kind invitation to go sailing, one beautiful Sunday afternoon, out of Aberaeron harbour, would so dramatically change the life of Dafydd Hughes? Until that time Dafydd, now 62, a son of Talybont and proud Welshman, had certainly dreamt more about playing rugby for Wales, than setting foot on a sailing yacht and becoming a sailor.
In 2022 Aberaeron was able to boast its very own World Champion after 18-year old Joshua Tarling won gold in the Junior Time Trial at the World Championships in Wollongong, Australia. Josh, a resident of Ffosyffin, has been turning heads for a number of years in the cycling world and has enjoyed success on the road and track.
Eisteddfod Gadeiriol Canolbarth Ceredigion 1921 We are pleased to announce that after 101 years, the 1921 Eisteddfod Chair has returned home to Aberaeron. It's not so much the lost chair of 1921, but its whereabouts until now has certainly been a mystery and a great topic of conversation over the years.
